Timeline Tips to ensure your day runs smoothly

When it comes to building your time line I always work backwards from Sunset (let’s just say sunset is 5:30pm for example)

🕰️ 4:00-5:30 (1.5hours) Bridal Party & Intimate couples photos

(dependent on open space or canopy area) always do shaded areas first

I love to allocate the first 30 minutes to the bridal party this is the best time for lighting with large groups. With the remaining hour of light for the couples (the softest time frame for couples which really sets the mood)

Allowing 10 minutes for the couple to watch the sunset alone

🕰️ 3:00-4:00 (1 hour) Start of Cocktail hour and guest mingling

Whilst Cocktail hour will run longer for your guests I highly recommend spending the firstpart of cocktail hour with your guests. This is a great way to capture candid moments, congratulations from guests, champagne towers, gelato eating, and a snack and drink break. A break to take in all the work you have done preparing such a beautiful day. One of the biggest regrets Couples have is spending time with their guests during the day time

🕰️ 2:30-3 Group photo & immediate family photos

(This time frame could be 15-30 minutes depending on how many combinations we have)

🕰️ 2-2:30 Ceremony

This is a great time frame to allow you to take your time walking down the aisle, your story, vows, signing and exit whether you choose to do bubbles, confetti, flower toss. Some couples opt for 15minutes and that is okay too

🕰️ 1:30pm Guest arrival

Giving your guests 30 minutes to arrive is a suffice amount of time to allow them to wander down to the ceremony area and take in the sights before the big moment. Any longer than this and your guests will be twiddling their thumbs, this gap allows me to capture guest entry and individual photos of your guests and their families/partners along with ceremony details

(If couples are not onsite allow for travel time between)

🕰️ 12-1:30 Bridal getting ready

The term ‘getting ready photos’ doesn’t mean excessive photos of make up and hair prep but the finer details that come there after.

I would I recommend your make up artist finish at the photographer arrival time allowing enough time to capture all your details and moments

🕰️ 10:30-12 Groom getting ready photos (can do 1 hour too)

Lets be real here the men don't really get into photos like the ladies do. However, Groomsmen getting ready photos don't have to be boring they can be as fun as you make it. Scotch glasses? cigars? Game of Pool? drinks with the boys? Photos with cars?
